In an effort to raise awareness about the dangers of poaching, Springbok Casino is sharing some heart-warming videos about the unusual friendships that can develop when orphaned baby animals are rescued. The South African online casino’s Animal Friendships collection tells the story of a little rhino called ‘Osita’ that became best of friends with a goat named ‘Bokkie’ at the Aquila Animal Rescue And Rehabilitation Conservation Centre. The collection also includes a video of ‘Kiko’, a young giraffe that was rescued from the wild by The David Sheldrick Wildlife Trust before befriending a baby elephant known as ‘Loboito’.The eight-video compilation additionally recounts how six-month-old elephant ‘Themba’ was saved from almost certain death by the Shamwari Wildlife Rehabilitation Centre after his mother died as a result of falling from a cliff and is now best friends with a sheep known as ‘Albert’.“We know how special our amazing wildlife is,” said Daniel Van Wyck from Springbok Casino, which offers desktop and mobile online casino games from developer RealTime Gaming.“We are blessed to be sharing our country with so many incredible animals. It sickens me to think that poachers are driving some endangered species into extinction. I’m so thankful for the organisations we’ve featured in our stories.”
