Thunderbolt Casino has increased its donation to the Isithembiso Babies Home this year. It works hand-in-hand with social services to place each child with a foster or adoptive home or reunite them with their families. The important childcare facility exists because Isithembiso refuses to let abandoned or orphaned babies remain that way. "We've just got to do our part," said Carmen Faragher, Coordinator at the center. "Since the home has been open, we've helped more than 200 children. That's 200 children whose lives have totally changed.""Helping out here gives me hope for more children," said one volunteer. "There are so many more children that can be loved.""For someone who was destined to live on the streets, maybe living off begging or stealing, they now have a chance in a family, a chance for some education, a chance of getting a good job -- of actually changing this nation," said Eugene Marais Isithembiso's Chairman. "There are close to a million orphaned children right now in this country, and only about 2000 a year get adopted.
